Acuity Brands Announces U.S. Utility Patent for Outline Family of Luminaires from Eureka Lighting
Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI) announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted U.S. patent number 11,226,083 covering the innovative features of its Outline family of luminaires from Eureka® Lighting, an established leader in decorative lighting solutions. The patent was issued January 18, 2022.
Outline luminaires have a modern look and a range of recessed surfaces, with suspended mounting iterations and a wide variety of head number and arrangement options. Challenging traditional notions of projector-type lighting designs, Outline luminaires’ innovative optics represent a leap in lens design. The lens can be aimable or used in a fixed "point and shoot" manner providing a powerful spot or high-quality ambient light.
Distinctive features of the Outline luminaire include advanced optical design, an adjustment mechanism and housing for simplified installation.
Launched in May 2020, the Outline family of luminaires has received multiple awards, including a 2021 Red Dot Award, 2021 GOOD DESIGN® Award, 2020 Product Innovation Award from Architectural SSL Magazine, and inclusion in the 2020 IES Progress Report.
